Crofton Park Library
Wanted: Copper, Brass and Zinc

Within the grounds of the library sits a large telegraph pole. Attached to the top of the telegraph pole is a sign which says ‘wanted copper brass and zinc’. These days the pole stands alone, with no indication of who might want these metals. According to Branch Library Gwen Randall, this sign was for a nearby scrap yard, existent in the seventies and eighties, which has since become a stone mason’s yard.
