St Pauls Cathedral
@www.ravishlondon.com

St. Paul’s Cathedral was built in 1710 by Christopher Wren, big boy architect at the time.

It replaced the old St. Paul’s Cathedral that was burned down in the Great Fire of London in 1666.

Within St. Paul’s there is a spiral staircase, consisting of 259 steps, which leads to the ‘whispering gallery’ which stands 99 feet above the ground.

A further 378 steps and 173 feet take you to the stone gallery, which runs around the base of the external dome.

A further 530 steps and 280 feet above ground level, and you’ve reached the Golden Gallery, which sits at the top of the external dome.
