| Dennis Severs House @www.ravishlondon.com Dennis Severs' house is something special for the open minded. I can't recommend enough that you pay it a visit. The interior of the house is designed as if it was a lived in French Huguenot weaver’s from anywhere between the seventeenth and early twentieth century. Once inside you are lost in the sounds, smells and sights of the era. Huguenots fled religious persecution in the Low Countries to settle in spitalfields. But don't for once think visiting this house is about history. It has nothing to do with understanding, but rather it’s about feeling. It’s about your imagination, and your ability to dive into the world which Severs’ house offers up to you. Dennis Severs is no longer with us but according to the house’s website whenever a visitor described the house as a museum Severs would eject him on to the street.
