| Middlesex Street Estate, Spitalfields @www.ravishlondon.com Middlesex Street is a poor man’s Barbican Estate, being a concrete tower block, with remarkable if ugly features set around a landscaped podium. Each time I see it I always have to photograph it. It's those jagged edges, each one coming out that little bit further, captivating like the swirl of a snail's shell. If you're in and around Petticoat Market you can walk up the main flight of stairs into the podium area and see the large block of flats. The silence of the podium area is so relaxing. Coming from the hustle and bustle of the City, your body suddenly winds down. |
